Rich began working part-time at WCHS in 2016 and came on full-time in 2017 after leaving the police force following 28 years of service. Before Rich became an employee with WCHS, he volunteered his time coaching athletes involved in Special Olympics. Rich oversees all 5 services of our Social/ Recreation Program- Discovery Plus, Stars Plus, Camp We Can, Special Olympics and Leadership Weekend.

Rich’s role involves seeking support and volunteers for his program, creating and executing all activities and outings, maintaining open communication with families and guardians, coordinating transportation and being the first line of contact for any issues, concerns or changes within his program.

Rich manages and supervises all Special Olympics for WCHS. He supervises the volunteers and coaches and develops ways to expand the program. Since beginning his position, Rich has increased the number of sports our athletes participate in from 3 to 12, and he continuously looks for opportunities to bring in more sporting options to the program.

Since joining WCHS, Rich has provided the athletes with many more opportunities to participate in local and area tournaments, as well as, Regional and State games. In 2018, Rich was asked to coach swimming in the USA games that took place in Seattle, Washington. He believes it is one experience every coach should get to experience.

Rich is married and has two grown children, one granddaughter and one grandson. Rich’s position requires many hours in the office, as well as, evenings and weekends. With the support of his wife and family, he has dedicated his time and passion to ensuring that individuals in Warren County have opportunities for social and recreation activities.
