Do you want to make a difference in someone’s life? Being a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Adult Day Program may just be the job for you!!
We are hiring for (1) full time DSP and are looking for someone who enjoys teaching and helping others develop new skills.
Typical Day: A DSP will research, create, and teach participants of all abilities in the following areas: Daily living, life skills, PE, and group activities. This position promotes growth and development in our participants with the goal of helping them become as independent as possible. A DSP will provide transportation for participants bringing them to and from the program (in a company vehicle), assist participants in the restroom as needed, assist/ promote participants in meeting their goals, and be an overall positive role model.
Eligible staff must be at least 18 years of age
Must possess a high school diploma or GED
Experience with supporting adults with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
Ability to pass a drug test and criminal/registry background checks.
Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, CPI etc. *All trainings will be provided by WCHS.
A current valid driver’s license, clear driving record, and ability to obtain a Class E license.
